According to a TMZ report, Liam Payne has died after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina.

The former One Direction singer passed away Wednesday evening after falling from his 3rd-floor room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. According to witnesses, whether the fall was accidental or intentional is unclear at this time.

TMZ obtained a photo of Payne’s body on the hotel deck, identifiable by his tattoos—a clock on his left forearm and a scorpion on his abdomen. Witnesses say the fall occurred shortly after 5 PM in Buenos Aires. The 31-year-old pop singer had been acting erratically in the hotel lobby before his death, such as smashing his laptop before being carried back to his room.

He recently visited Argentina for a Niall Horan concert, where the two former One Direction bandmates reunited. Liam joined One Direction at 16 and was a key songwriter as the group rose to global fame after its 2010 launch on “The X Factor.” The band broke up in 2015.

In June 2021, Liam revealed struggles with alcohol and prescription drug addictions during his time on tour, admitting he had experienced severe suicidal thoughts. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Liam’s ex-fiancée, Maya Henry, claimed he left her after asking her to get an abortion.
