BRAZEN ACT: Taliban taunts U.S. with equipment left behind on anniversary of bungled Afghan withdrawal

Outrage is erupting on social media after the Taliban held a military parade on Wednesday to flaunt all the weapons, vehicles and equipment left behind by the United States amid the Biden administration’s bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan three years ago.

The Trump administration had already set the wheels in motion for American troops to withdraw from Afghanistan, after a U.S. presence there for 20 years. However, the Biden administration then took over and their chaotic operation for withdrawing resulted in a terror attack that killed 13 American service members and wounded many others.

The Biden administration had also shockingly rescheduled the withdrawal deadline to September 11, 2021, on the anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on U.S. soil. The final US flight out of Afghanistan ultimately occurred on August 30, 2021.

During the bungled withdrawal, the Biden administration also allowed the Taliban terror group to move in and take over the country, and left behind billions of dollars worth of military equipment and weapons, which was immediately seized by the Taliban.

Now the Taliban is parading the equipment in a huge display, to celebrate the third anniversary of the U.S. withdrawal, and to demand that the world recognize them as the country’s rulers.

From the Associated Press:

The Taliban celebrated the third anniversary of their return to power Wednesday at a former U.S. air base in Afghanistan, but there was no mention of the country’s hardships or promises to help the struggling population.

Under blue skies and blazing sunshine at the Bagram base — once the center of America’s war to unseat the Taliban and hunt down the al-Qaida perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks — members of the Taliban Cabinet lauded achievements such as strengthening Islamic law and establishing a military system that provides “peace and security.”

The speeches were aimed at an international audience, urging the diaspora to return and for the West to interact and cooperate with the country’s rulers. No country recognizes the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.

Visegrád 24 reported, “The Taliban are holding a major military parade the former U.S. military base in Bagram to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of taking over Kabul. Chinese and Iranian diplomats attended the ceremony.”

Libs of TikTok also voiced her outrage, writing, “The Taliban just held a military parade with our equipment that was left during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. Kamala was the “last person in the room” when the decisions were made regarding the withdrawal. Around $7B worth of equipment was left. Kamala is responsible for this. They’re mocking us. She made us a laughingstock.”

Retired police officer Brandon Tatum re-posted scenes from the Taliban parade and wrote in disgust, “The Taliban held a military parade showcasing US weaponry, vehicles and equipment that were left behind by Biden & Harris after the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. This is what America Last looks like…”

Journalist Collin Rugg wrote:

NEW: The Taliban held a military parade at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan with the US military equipment they stole after the disastrous Biden-Harris withdrawal. The Taliban was celebrating the third anniversary of taking over the former US air base as they trolled the US with some of the $85 billion in military equipment.

“The Islamic Emirate eliminated internal differences and expanded the scope of unity and cooperation in the country,” said Deputy Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Kabir.

“No one will be allowed to interfere in internal affairs and Afghan soil will not be used against any country.”

Prominent social media user ProudArmyBrat wrote, “The Taliban is having a parade, showing off our $85 Billion left in equipment. My brother commanded Bagram Air Base (Afghanistan) for two years, and this arsenal was all stored there. (Tall guy w security detail). Absolute travesty!”

Entrepreneur Kim Dotcomm wrote, “The Taliban in Afghanistan stage a massive military parade with $85 billion worth of US military equipment left behind by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. In the near future Russia will take possession of everything the US military and NATO shipped to Ukraine.”
