The money give-away party is OVER.  The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) – the federal agency responsible for doling out foreign aid to countries and programs all around the world, is on the chopping block, after Elon Musk, who leads DOGE, found out what the agency was up to.

Or, as Musk says, he has just put it through the wood chipper.

USAID, one of the largest foreign aid agencies in the world, spent over $40 billion in U.S. taxpayer money in fiscal year 2023, and has a $50 billion budget.  According to the Washington Post, the top recipients of USAID funding included Ukraine, Ethiopia, Jordan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Somalia.

The agency has over 10,000 paid staffers, with about two-thirds of those working overseas.

Now, Musk, with President Donald Trump’s approval, has locked staffers out of the agency’s headquarters, told them not to come to work, and shut down the agency’s website and social media accounts.

CNN reported: Logos and photos of its aid work have been stripped from building walls. And its website and social media accounts have gone dark, replaced with a reduced version of its webpage on the State Department’s website.

From the Associated Press: Staffers of the U.S. Agency for International Development were instructed to stay out of the agency’s Washington headquarters on Monday, according to a notice distributed to them, after billionaire Elon Musk announced President Donald Trump had agreed with him to shut the agency.

USAID staffers said they also tracked more than 600 employees who reported being locked out of the agency’s computer systems overnight. Those still in the system received emails saying that “at the direction of Agency leadership” the headquarters building “will be closed to Agency personnel on Monday, Feb. 3.”

Two government employees who tried to gain access to the USAID offices in the building on Monday morning said they were turned away by security guards, who told them the offices were open but people could not go in. Later in the morning, uniformed Department of Homeland Security officers blocked the lobby of the USAID’s headquarters using yellow tape with the words “do not cross.”

The developments come after Musk, who’s leading an extraordinary civilian review of the federal government with the Republican president’s agreement, said early Monday that he had spoken with Trump about the six-decade U.S. aid and development agency and “he agreed we should shut it down.”

Musk explained Monday morning, “It became apparent that it’s not an apple with a worm it in. What we have is just a ball of worms. You’ve got to basically get rid of the whole thing. It’s beyond repair. We’re shutting it down.”

“We spent the weekend feeding USAID into the wood chipper,” Musk announced late Sunday night.
“Could [have] gone to some great parties. Did that instead.”

“It’s been run by a bunch of radical lunatics, and we’re getting them out, and then we’ll make a decision,” President Trump said of the USAID.

Investigative journalist Walter Curt announced, “Federal Procument Data shows that USAID approved over $6 Million dollars in contracts on Friday. Including a $1.2M Payment to Deloitte for HR services, $600K for International Center for Language Studies, and over $100k for “Miscellaneous Foreign Awardees.” DOGE has work to do.

“Despite the order from President Trump freezing the payments, USAID continued to defy that order as late as the 31st. No wonder Elon is mad at them. They are unlawfully defying the orders of the President.

“There should never be a payment sent out with American Tax Dollars that is listed under “Miscellaneous” ever again. Let alone to a foreign nation.”

“USAID is a criminal organization,” Musk declared.

“There are professional fraud rings that are taking $100-200B of US Taxpayer money out of the country,” Musk warned, later adding, “The level of fraud in government entitlements spending is insane!”

Journalist Mario Nawfall posted the following:

USAID spent $40B in 2023 across 100+ countries while maintaining expensive offices worldwide and 10,000 staff members – most stationed overseas. Trump and DOGE now target the agency Elon calls a “viper’s nest of radical-left marxists.”

The agency’s spending has shifted from 80% of development capital flows in 1961 to just 10% today, yet bureaucracy grows.

As DOGE officials investigate waste, they found restricted access and resistance – leading to removal of top security officials blocking transparency efforts.

“Crazy waste of money,” declared Musk.

El Salvador President Nayib Bukele shared some powerful insight, writing on X:

Most governments don’t want USAID funds flowing into their countries because they understand where much of that money actually ends up.

While marketed as support for development, democracy, and human rights, the majority of these funds are funneled into opposition groups, NGOs with political agendas, and destabilizing movements.

At best, maybe 10% of the money reaches real projects that help people in need (there are such cases), but the rest is used to fuel dissent, finance protests, and undermine administrations that refuse to align with the globalist agenda.

Cutting this so-called aid isn’t just beneficial for the United States; it’s also a big win for the rest of the world.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) responded, “Yes! 💯. @nayibbukele gets it! Foreign aid doesn’t do what it promises, and often ends up fueling corruption.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) reacted, “7 months ago, I tried to DEFUND USAID. Only 81 Republicans voted “aye” which is “yes” to my amendment to prohibit funding to USAID. 127 Republicans and 204 Democrats voted NO to my amendment and voted to FUND USAID. I FULLY SUPPORT ELIMINATING USAID!!!”

Commenting on a report from November of last year which announced the USAID was giving $230 million to “support the Palestinian people,” investor Shaun Maguire wrote, “I’d love to know what USAID’s $2.1B to Gaza was used for.”

Those benefiting from USAID are kicking and screaming – including Bill Kristol, founder of ‘Defending Democracy Together,’ a 501(c)(4) program aimed at fighting against President Donald Trump.

“The deep state is far preferable to the Trump state,” Kristol whined.

X user Data Republican wrote, “Hello Mr. Kristol, For you, the deep state is preferable because you are listed as the President of Defending Democracy (EIN 831567380) which is an indirect beneficiary of USAID through Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors. You are exposed.”

“Why is USAID giving millions of dollars to @BillKristol? another user asked.

“Not anymore,” declared Musk.

And here’s $68 million that went to a dance company in CHINA:

Musk announced, “USAID has been paying media organizations to publish their propaganda.”

Mike Benz asked, “Why did USAID pay $20 million to hit piece journalists to dig up dirt on Rudy Giuliani and use that dirt as the basis to impeach the sitting US President in 2019?”
