BOOM! Former Biden administration dealt DEFEAT as appeals court upholds state’s voter ID law

From The Dallas Express: The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Texas measure this week, protecting mail-in ballots with ID numbers.

Former President Joe Biden’s administration and left-wing activists sued Attorney General Ken Paxton and other state officials, targeting Texas’ Election Integrity Protection Act of 2021, or S.B. 1, which required election safeguards, like matching mail-in ballots’ voter ID numbers to a state database.

Biden and a large number of left-wing voting groups sued in U.S. v. Paxton. They claimed this provision violated the Civil Rights Act, denying the right to vote for an “error or omission” that is not “material” in determining voter eligibility.

However, on August 4, the Fifth Circuit upheld Texas’ voter ID match requirement.

The report explains that the new S.B. 1 law requires Texas voters to write their registration ID number on their mail-in ballot application and return envelope so their eligibility can be verified.

The Texas GOP wrote on X, “Thank you, Attorney General @KenPaxtonTX, for once again defending the integrity of our elections and securing a significant win for voter ID laws in Texas. By successfully upholding the common-sense requirement for voters to include an ID number on mail-in ballots and vote-by-mail applications, you’ve reinforced a vital safeguard against fraud and helped restore confidence in our sufrage.”

Paxton responded, “It’s my honor to protect Texas.”

“THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!! Should be Nationwide!!!” declared President Donald Trump in a Truth Social post, as he reacted to the news that the voter ID law had been upheld.
