From Fox News: Federal authorities have arrested more than 1,000 in Minnesota, including alleged murderers, rapists, pedophiles and gang members, after sending a surge of agents to the state in its “massive” response to the rampant fraud still being uncovered.
Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital that since the agency “surged law enforcement” to Minnesota last week, it “has already made more than 1,000 arrests of murderers, rapists, pedophiles, and gang members.”
DHS said that among those arrested was a Somali criminal illegal alien named Liban Ali Osman, 43, who the agency said was convicted of robbery in Columbus, Ohio. Osman was sentenced to three years in prison and has had a final order of removal since May 17, 2011.
Another, Vannaleut Keomany, a 59-year-old criminal illegal alien from Laos, arrested in the crackdown, was convicted of two counts of rape, also in Columbus. DHS said Keomany was sentenced to seven years in prison and has had a final order of removal since Dec. 17, 2009.
The report provides a long list of illegal alien criminals, complete with their names, ages and charges against them, who were busted in the operation.
DHS announced Tuesday, “Today, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem participated in an immigration enforcement operation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers that resulted in the arrest of Tomas Espin Tapia, a fugitive wanted for murder in Ecuador and sexual predator.”
“Tomas Espin Tapia, a criminal illegal alien from Ecuador, illegally entered the United States on October 23, 2022, and was RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration. His criminal history includes an active warrant in Ecuador for murder and an active warrant for sexual assault in Connecticut. He also has previous convictions in Ecuador for robbery and extortion. He was issued a final order of removal by an Immigration Judge on February 28, 2025 after he failed to show up for his immigration hearing,” the announcement reads.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz commented on one of the arrests, and got pounded by Noem in return.
“Ridiculous. Nobody is fooled into thinking this bafoonery is a reasonable use of taxpayer dollars. It should not take 50 ICE agents to arrest one guy in a library,” he snarled.
Noem fired back, “Really, you’re worried about taxpayer dollars? There’s been $9 billion stolen from the taxpayers in Minnesota since you became Governor. You won’t let us in Minnesota’s jails and there is rampant assault against our law enforcement thanks to vilification from politicians like you. So, yes, there’s strength in law enforcement numbers to remove these violent criminals from the communities you refuse to protect.”

ICE also slapped Walz back down, writing, “Does that mean your sanctuary state will now honor our immigration detainers?”
“Attacks on our ICE officers and agents are up 1,150%. While our brave men and women are doing their federally mandated jobs to defend Americans from criminal illegal aliens, Gov. Walz and Mayor Frey’s anti-ICE rhetoric fuels protests and attacks on our officers,” ICE added.

Thanks to the patriots at @ICEgov, the Minneapolis area—and our nation—are safer.
We are incredibly proud of their continued work to remove gang members, terrorists, drug traffickers, and predators from our communities.
