From the Washington Examiner: Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) have not given a full press conference or media interview since entering the presidential campaign, but they did sit down and interview each other in Detroit.

In the 10-minute spot, the pair discussed music, football, and “white guy tacos” at Aretha’s Jazz Cafe. The engagement was edited into a video, which the Harris campaign released Thursday.

The video comes as the Trump campaign amps up pressure on Harris to speak to the media in an unscripted format and release more policy details about her plans if elected.

The video, posted on Harris’s YouTube channel, is titled, “Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on tacos, music, and the future of America.”

“Like, I have white guy tacos,” Walz tells Harris as the bizarre video begins.

“What is that, like mayonnaise and tuna? What are you doing?” Harris asks.

In a veiled effort to appeal to older, rural and urban Americans, the two sit down at a round table and chat about favorite foods, and an old car Walz has that still has an 8-track tape player.  Harris also touts the musicians her parents used to like while she was growing up.

Walz claims his family had to “pull themselves up by their bootstraps,” and Harris says, “We’ve got to help people get through the hard times.”

It’s all folksy and friendly, as Harris and Walz attempt to leave the impression that they’re just ordinary Americans trying to make ends meet.  Although Harris admits that her parents were involved in the “civil rights movement,” and says, “I grew up surrounded by people shouting for justice.”

The video also includes another staged phone call.

Here it is….

The video is getting glowing reviews from Harris’s followers on YouTube. However, Harris also posted the video on X/Twitter, where many conservatives are calling it out as staged.

Republican vice-presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance has been pounding on Harris for refusing to speak to the media, and declared over the weekend, “Kamala Harris isn’t running a presidential campaign. She’s producing a movie. Everything is scripted everywhere she goes. She’s fundamentally a fake person who changes her tune depending on what audience she’s in front of.”
