Exodus 15:26
“If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”
(NKJV)
Commentary by Kat. L.
God is the Lord who heals. He offers the gift of healing not just for our physical body, but also for our mind and soul.
God is truly powerful, faithful, and loving. These verses remind us of that.
The lyrics of the song below are so encouraging. They remind us that Jesus offers peace because He meets every need.
“Prince of Peace,” written by Josh Baldwin, Hank Bentley, and Ben Fielding, says, “I’ve been walking by troubled waters, Here in the shadow all alone, And I’ve been worried about tomorrow
Stuck in a world I can’t control.”
We’ve all felt that way – troubled, worried, and unable to control things. But Jesus heals our mind and soul, too.
The chorus says, “And I met You as a Savior, I’ve found in You a friend, And I’ve seen You as a healer, My help and my defense.
“God You’ve been my provider, But right now what I need Is You to be my Prince of Peace.”
Lord Jesus, thank you for your healing power. We ask that you bring us the peace and healing only you can bring when we are feeling worried and afraid. You are the Prince of Peace, and we dearly need that comfort sometimes. We pray that you continue to bless us and help us to offer hope and healing to others. In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.
