MSNBC host Symone Sanders-Townsend hinted at having had a challenging experience while working for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Sanders-Townsend, who was Harris’ chief spokesperson and senior adviser before moving to MSNBC in 2022, joined fellow Biden administration alum and MSNBC host Jen Psaki to discuss the criticisms aimed at Harris, the new presumptive Democratic nominee. During their conversation, Sanders-Townsend shared her own experiences working with Harris.
“It was a new experience for me because I had never worked for a high-profile woman before. I had only worked for men,” Sanders-Townsend explained to Psaki.
She added, “There was a day at work when I thought, ‘Ma’am, you might be the last woman I work for because this is—it’s a lot that we have to deal with here.'”
Psaki responded with a laugh, saying, “There’s a story there.” Harris has faced multiple rounds of staff turnover during her tenure as vice president, which has drawn criticism for the high rate of departures from her team.
