BACKLASH: Tech company pulls Olympics advertising after anti-Christian opening ceremony

The 2024 Olympic Ceremony offended many Christians and led to at least one sponsor withdrawing support from the Paris event. Mississippi-based telecommunications company C Spire announced on social media that it had pulled its advertising from the Olympics due to the ceremony’s mockery of a significant biblical scene.

“We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics,” C Spire posted on X. “C Spire will be pulling our advertising from the Olympics.”

The four-hour event, held along the Seine River, featured international stars like Celine Dion and Lady Gaga. Drag Queen Nicky Doll, known from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and host of “Drag Race France,” participated in a fashion runway segment with other “Drag Race France” stars.

The drag queens initially observed the runway show before joining in to display their own styles. One controversial scene evoked Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper,” with drag queens and other performers arranged in a manner reminiscent of Jesus Christ and his apostles. This depiction drew negative reactions globally, not just from C Spire.
