ANTISOCIAL MEDIA: X rival ‘Bluesky’ posts lackluster warning as leftist users cheer over Charlie Kirk’s death

Bluesky, a left-wing social platform accused of tolerating calls for violence, issued a hollow “warning” Wednesday night to users celebrating the assassination of 31-year-old conservative activist Charlie Kirk:

“Glorifying violence or harm violates Bluesky’s Community Guidelines. We review reports and take action on content that celebrates harm against anyone. Violence has no place in healthy public discourse, and we’re committed to fostering healthy, open conversations.”

Bluesky, launched in 2024 as a Twitter/X alternative, quickly devolved into a left-wing echo chamber where calls for violence against conservatives often go unchecked. Its warning against “celebrating harm” rang hollow, critics noted, considering former posts on the controversial website such as Mark Hamill joking about Trump’s death, Patton Oswalt amplifying threats against border czar Tom Homan, and journalist Taylor Lorenz praising the assassination of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO.

Below is a compilation of screenshots from X of Bluesky posts celebrating and lauding the unprecedented assassination of Charlie Kirk, as well as calling for violence against other notable figures:
