It didn’t take long for police to identify and arrest a man after he posted a shocking video of himself spraying bug killer on fresh produce at a Walmart store this week.
In the video, the man shows his face while inside a Walmart store, then shows a can of ‘Hot Shot Bed Bug and Flea Killer’ as he holds the can over a display of bananas. He starts spraying the bug killer on the bananas, then moves on to spray other fresh produce including sweet potatoes, lemons, apples and tomatoes. A couple of rotisserie chickens were also sprayed.
Police in Mesa, Arizona were first made aware of the video circulating online Friday morning, and were able to determine not only the exact store where the incident occurred, but identified the culprit as well.
Charles Smith, 27, was arrested Saturday morning, and has admitted to the stunt, which occurred around 8:30 p.m. Thursday night. He told police it was only intended to be a prank to post on social media.
