From Daily Mail: Mayor Zohran Mamdani told reporters his wife was a ‘private person’ when quizzed over her liking a celebratory Instagram post after the day after the October 7 attack on Israel.
The Democratic socialist took questions on Friday after a story emerged in the Jewish Insider highlighting his wife Rama Duwaji, 28, and her activity on the platform.
According to the outlet she liked an image which celebrated the attack by Hamas on Israel in October of 2023.
The Slow Factory posted images of people taking over an IDF vehicle and a bulldozer breaking into Israel, with captions referencing “Free Palestine” and “breaking the walls of apartheid and military occupation.”
Answering questions about his wife liking the posts, Mayor Mamdani said, “My wife is the love of my life, and she is also a private person who has held no formal position on my campaign or in my City Hall.”
