From the New York Post: The son of noted Iranian-American poet Roger Sedarat has been arrested in Montclair, New Jersey in connection with an alleged ISIS-inspired terror plot uncovered in Michigan last week, law enforcement sources said.
Milo Sedarat was arrested at his father’s home in Montclair Wednesday, sources told The Post.
Dad Roger Sedarat is an award-winning Iranian-American poet and a professor at Queens College in New York City.
The feds also nabbed another Montclair teen, Tomas Kaan Guzel, 19, sources said.
The NJ men were taken into custody following a joint investigation by the NYPD’s Intelligence Bureau and the FBI.
The Department of Justice released a criminal complaint Monday which included chilling details of how a group of people were arrested for plotting a Halloween Day attack designed to copy the 2015 ISIS terror attack in Paris, France.
The report explains that Guzel was arrested in a food court at the Newark Liberty International Airport early Wednesday, where police said he was waiting for a flight to Turkey with the goal of reaching Syria and training with ISIS.
Guzel had reportedly intended to travel on November 17, but moved up his scheduled departure after the news broke about the raids against the terror suspects in Detroit who he was allegedly involved with.
