From the New York Times: Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton abruptly halted her closed-door testimony before the House Oversight Committee on Thursday afternoon after learning that a Republican attendee had leaked an image from inside the deposition, prompting an eruption in the room as her lawyers vociferously objected.
Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado shared a photograph of Mrs. Clinton answering questions, which was posted on social media by Benny Johnson, a right-wing podcaster. Mrs. Clinton’s attorneys immediately asked to pause the proceedings, noting that the former secretary of state had been denied her request for a public hearing.
The pause came after a defiant opening statement from Mrs. Clinton, who decried House Republicans for forcing her to participate in their investigation into the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and accused them of using her as a prop in “partisan political theater.”
Newsweek explained in a separate report: The deposition is being recorded on video, but Chairman James Comer has said any footage will be released only after Clinton’s attorneys have an opportunity to review it.
Johnson posted two versions of the photo on X, which Boebert had sent to him from the hearing.

NBC News reporter Ryan Nobels then announced, “An advisor to the Clinton’s just came to the press cams and said today’s deposition has been paused after Rep. Lauren Boebert sent an unauthorized photo of Secretary Clinton to conservative influencer Benny Johnson.”
Johnson responded, writing, “This is insane. The deposition is being filmed. Hillary wanted it to be done LIVE on TV. The entire deposition will be released soon. Rep. Boebert gave me permission to post photo with credit. Hillary is trying to get out of answering questions about Epstein because of a pic!?!”
In another post, Johnson argued, “It was authorized. And it’s hilarious they’re trying to use this to weasel out of answering questions about Epstein. It was Hillary who demanded this deposition be LIVE for all to see.”
This is insane.

“I cannot believe this is happening,” Johnson continued. “Hillary Clinton just STORMED out of the Epstein Deposition because I posted a photo of her testifying. Now the Clinton PR team is crying about me to the press. This is insane.”

Earlier Thursday morning, Boebert posted photos of herself and other Republicans as they were en route to Chappaqua, New York for the hearing with Clinton.
