From Fox News: A Minnesota state representative is questioning the integrity of voter roll data in the state’s most populous county, setting off a dispute over access to election records.
“Why is there such an effort to block us or any election integrity group to see this information?” state Rep. Pam Altendorf said Saturday.
“If they’re clean, that’s great. And if not, if [Minnesota Secretary of State] Steve Simon is unable or unwilling to clean our voter rolls, then we absolutely have to get federal help because this is disenfranchising every legal voter in Minnesota.”
Altendorf said the dispute stems from her attempt to obtain active voter roll data from multiple Minnesota counties. She submitted data requests to four counties after reviewing state statutes and consulting with election integrity groups, arguing that as vice chair of the Minnesota House Elections Committee, she has the authority to access the information.
Altendorf said after Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon instructed counties not to turn over the information, three counties refused to comply with her request.
Only Hennepin County, which has the largest population of any county in the state – complied with her request for the data. After reviewing the data from Hennepin county, Altendorf said she found nearly 3,000 active voter entries missing key information, such as birthdates, names and addresses, as well as potential duplicate records. Again, that was just from one county.
Minnesota’s Secretary of State, Steve Simon, 56, is a member of the far-left Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, and has served in the position since January 2015.
Simon had refused to cooperate with a request for voter roll data from Attorney General Pam Bondi, and called the request “bizarre and disturbing.”
After Simon refused to hand over the data to Bondi, Altendorf said she reviewed state statues and spoke with election integrity groups, and determine she had authority as a state lawmaker to request the data herself.
