From the Daily Caller: Famous rock band Shinedown dropped out of the “Rock the Country” music festival headlined by Kid Rock, claiming they fear it will cause “division.”
Shinedown issued a statement Feb. 6 on social media telling fans they will no longer attend the patriotic show slated to take place in South Carolina in July. The festival markets itself as a community celebration honoring America’s 250th year. Kid Rock has long backed President Donald Trump and has visited the White House multiple times.
“Shinedown is everyone’s band. We feel that we have been given a platform to bring all people together through the power of music and song. We have one boss, and it is everyone in the audience,” their statement read.
The rock band continued, “Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. With that in mind, we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock the Country festival.”

“Here are the performers. I think we’ll be fine without you, whoever you are,” one person mocked.

Prominent X user Chief Nerd mocked, “LOL you were the least relevant band on the card and now you gave a middle finger to half the country. Find a new PR person.”

As a fan of the past 15yrs, I’m disappointed in you guys. You’ve never made it about politics and you just did without even realizing it.

We’re all about uniting not dividing so we’re going to divide ourselves and not participate? Makes a lot of sense 🤷🏻♂️
