CHEERS OR JEERS? JD Vance, wife Usha reportedly booed during Olympic ceremony, but others claim that’s false

From NY PostVice President JD Vance was met with jeers by spectators during the Winter Olympic Games’ opening ceremony in Italy Friday.

The Veep was sitting next to his wife Usha Vance when the pair were shown on the Jumbotron with small US flags, leading to some boos, according to footage of the event.

But the US athletes, decked out in red, white and blue and waving American flags were cheered by the crowd as they walked into Milan’s famous San Siro soccer stadium for the Parade of Athletes.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) had previously warned crowds to treat American athletes and dignitaries with respect.

“I hope that the opening ceremony is seen by everyone as an opportunity ‍to be respectful of each other,” IOC President Kirsty Coventry said earlier this week.

Some people said that the media is lying about the boos. According to Media Lies, “Mainstream media claims the crowd at the Olympics unleashed ‘massive boos’ for VP JD Vance at the Milan Winter Olympics opening.

“They claimed the crowd rejected him amid anti-ICE hysteria, but another angle proves the crowd was cheering, not jeering for Team USA and VP Vance.

“This is another case where the left invents backlash to smear the admin. Don’t buy the salacious propaganda.”

President Donald J. Trump said he was surprised by reports that Vance was booed.
