From the Daily Mail: Heavily armed US Marshals raided the upstate New York home of Timothy Busfield and his wife Melissa Gilbert less than an hour after the actor turned himself in to police 2,000 miles away.
The raid came two days after cops in Albuquerque, New Mexico, issued a warrant for the West Wing actor’s arrest, charging him with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse on the set of his TV show ‘The Cleaning Lady.’
At least ten officers, members of the New York Regional Fugitive Task Force, rammed open the door of the Little House on the Prairie star’s $300,000 property in tiny Highland Lake in the Catskill Mountains – demanding any occupants come outside.
The raid, witnessed exclusively by the Daily Mail, occurred within an hour of news breaking that Busfield had handed himself in to authorities in New Mexico, declaring that he was innocent of all accusations.
The report explains that after no on came to the door of the home, the federal marshals, wearing helmets and shields and armed with assault rifles and riot gear, burst into the home using a battering ram to knock open the white front door.
The officers reportedly spent about 10 minutes inside the home, but did not appear to take anything with them when they left.
Busfield has denied the charges of child sex abuse, and a statement released on behalf of Gilbert said, “Melissa stands with and supports her husband and will address the public at an appropriate time. We ask that their privacy be respected.”
The couple have been married since 2013.

The Daily Mail also reported on Wednesday: Actor Timothy Busfield accused of sexually assaulting THIRD child as West Wing star prepares to appear in court.
West Wing star Timothy Busfield has been accused of sexually assaulting a third child in a bombshell new lawsuit, as he prepares to appear in court today. The 68-year-old Emmy award-winning actor was charged last week with engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with two boys. Busfield has now been hit with an accusation from a female victim, as shown in a lawsuit seen by the Daily Mail.
The legal claim states that ‘another victim’s father’ told police that Busfield had sexually abused his daughter ‘several years ago’. The father said the abuse took place in Sacramento, California, when his daughter was 16.
‘While auditioning for [Busfield] at B Street Threatre, the 16-year-old reported that [Busfield] kissed her and put his hands down her pants and touched her privates,’ the motion states.
Busfield allegedly ‘begged the family to not report to law enforcement if he received therapy,’ and the alleged victim’s father, being a ‘therapist himself, thought at the time that was the best thing to do.’
