From Washington Examiner:
As has become common at Hollywood award shows in recent years, this year’s Golden Globes also became a vessel for left-wing political activism. Hollywood actors donned pins on their festive outfits displaying anti-ICE messaging in protest of the federal law enforcement agency tasked with removing illegal immigrants in the U.S.
Entertainers such as Mark Ruffalo, Ariana Grande, Jean Smart, Wanda Sykes, and Natasha Lyonne wore small circular pins with a white background and black text, according to multiple sources. One pin featured the words “Be Good” in honor of Renee Good, the woman who died last week after being shot by an ICE agent after Good appeared to drive her car into him. Another variation of the pin contained the phrase “Ice Out,” in protest of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Ruffalo proudly wore a pin for agitator Renee Good, telling USA Today, “This is for her. This is for the people in the United States who are terrorized and scared today. I know I’m one of them. I love this country, and what I’m seeing here happening is not America.”
“I want to be here to celebrate, and I am here to celebrate, and I’m proud to have a Golden Globe nomination,” Ruffalo added. “But also, this is not normal anymore, and so, I don’t know how I can be quiet.”
