2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Are you carrying old and heavy burdens? Sometimes we bring all our burdens to God in prayer, but we don’t leave them there. Instead, we pick it right back up and continue carrying the heavy weight of pain and shame with us again.
The hymn below includes the following lyrics:
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer!
The scripture makes it clear – in Christ, we are a new creature. The Lord WANTS us to leave the guilt and sins of the past behind us, and walk forward with a new Christ-filled life and purpose.
“Dear Heavenly Father, we’re thankful for Your cleansing power through the blood of Christ. Help us each day to bring all our cares to You, and leave it all in Your hands. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.”
