Psalm 51:9-12

9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

[King James version]

As this year draws to a close, and a new year begins, it’s a perfect time to remember God’s mercies and His promises.

It’s a time for cleansing, and a time for renewal. It’s a time to let go of past mistakes, knowing the Lord will blot out all our sins if we simply come to Him with a spirit of repentance and humility.

It’s a time to forgive and walk forward in faith and redemption. It’s a time to recommit to our Savior, to make sure we ask for His presence to be with us every single day, and to restore our joy.

“Dear Heavenly Father, we ask You to lead us in this new year, to guide our steps, our choices, our words and our influence. We can’t see what lies ahead, but we know You will lead us through it. We ask for Your blessing, and beg for Your wisdom. We pray for our nation, and asK You to give our leaders a portion of Your spirit, that they will make righteous decisions. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”
