MORNING DEVOTIONAL (December 19)

2

Isaiah 64:8

But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

[King James version]

Clay, as long as it is soft, can be molded into any shape the potter desires. But once it becomes hardened, it can no longer be shaped or formed. Instead, it’s easily broken.

The Lord wants to shape our lives to fit His purpose, to make us useful to Him and to others.  May God help us to keep our hearts soft, teachable, and yielded to His will. Gracious, kind, forgiving, caring, helpful, honest, and repentant… these are all marks of a soft heart that God can mold and bless.

Lyrics of the song below include these inspiring lines:

Mold my life with Your hands, Lord,
Teach me to trust and obey.
Weave me into Your plan, Lord.
Use me to serve You each day.
