In a brief prime-time address to the nation on Wednesday night, President Donald J. Trump announced a new, monetary reward for military members.
The government will be sending $1,776 to military service members before Christmas, Trump said, calling the payment “warrior dividends” and saying his tariffs for made it all possible.
“Military service members will receive a special … warrior dividend before Christmas,” Trump announced. “A warrior dividend in honor of our nation’s founding in 1776, we are sending every soldier $1,776.”
Trump said the checks were already being sent out.
