Police in Providence, Rhode Island have released new video footage of a ‘person of interest’ they are seeking in connection with the deadly mass shooting at Brown University on Saturday.
Authorities first arrested a “person of interest” on Sunday, initially believing they had the gunman, but released him Sunday night and have now renewed their search for the gunman.
Around noon on Monday, police announced, “Please be advised that the PPD has an enhanced presence in Providence neighborhoods. As part of the investigation, police are going businesses and residences to request available camera footage.”

Saturday night, hours after the shooting, police released the first video of the ‘person of interest’ they believe could be the suspect. The man is seen walking down the sidewalk and rounding a corner, but his face is not visible.
Authorities have said there is no video footage of the suspect from inside the university building where the shooting occurred.
