From Fox News: A grand jury declined to indict New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday, marking the second time in one week that the Department of Justice was unable to secure charges against one of President Donald Trump’s top political foes.
The grand jury heard the latest case against James in Alexandria, Virginia, two sources told Fox News, after a separate grand jury declined to indict James in Norfolk last week.
A judge dismissed the initial charges against James after finding that the prosecutor who brought the case, Lindsey Halligan, was unlawfully appointed as U.S. attorney. Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed Halligan in September at Trump’s urging. The president said he wanted Halligan, a White House aide with no prosecutorial experience, in place to “get things moving.” Halligan proceeded to bring charges against both James and former FBI Director James Comey soon after she took office, but she was the lone prosecutor to sign the indictments. A federal judge found Halligan was improperly appointed and disqualified her, leading the judge to toss both indictments out.
James’ attorney Abbe Lowell defiantly declared, “This case already has been a stain on this Department’s reputation and raises troubling questions about its integrity. Any further attempt to revive these discredited charges would be a mockery of our system of justice.”
Fraud investigator San Antar, who exposed the evidence that led to the mortgage fraud charges, commented on an MSNOW [formerly MSNBC] report about efforts to get Halligan confirmed, and wrote:
The MSNOW story leaves out the only thing that matters: the documents. 1,200 words about Lindsey Halligan’s appointment. Zero words about the evidence against Letitia James. Lindsey Halligan’s appointment was a procedural problem. The evidence isn’t.
Letitia James still can’t explain these four sworn statements about one property:
▪️To the bank: Signed a Second Home Rider swearing she would personally occupy Norfolk as her “second home”
▪️To her insurance company: Certified the same property as owner-occupied
▪️To the IRS: Reported zero personal-use days and claimed rental income (Schedule E, penalty of perjury)
▪️To New York State: Listed it as an “investment” property on financial disclosures
Four statements. Four different classifications. Mathematical impossibility.
Senate confirmation doesn’t change public records. It doesn’t resolve contradictory sworn statements. It doesn’t make the documents disappear. The appointment was the problem. The evidence never was.

Letitia James still can’t… https://t.co/JN5OA9Ra2P

However, two grand juries have now refused to take up the case, ignoring the evidence, and only citing the fact that a judge ruled Halligan was improperly appointed to the Justice Department.
