Ken Dilanian, a correspondent for MSNOW, formerly MSNBC, is being lambasted for his comments about the horrific shooting of two National Guard members in Washington, D.C. Wednesday afternoon.
In what authorities are describing as a “targeted attack,” a gunman reportedly rounded a corner and opened fire on the two National Guard members who were on patrol near a busy D.C. metro station, just about a mile from the White House.
The media has reported that one of the guard members was shot in the head. Both are currently hospitalized in critical condition.
Dilanian, commenting on the breaking news, is being slammed for appearing to show sympathy to the SHOOTER, as he said on live television, “Of course, you know, there’s so much controversy happening in the United States right now with ice, who are also wearing uniforms and wearing masks. And so there’s, you don’t know, people walking around with uniforms in an American city. There are some Americans that might object to that. And so apparently this shooting has happened.”
The White House Rapid Response Team fired back in fury, “.@KDilanianMSNOW, two heroes were just shot protecting our nation’s capital — and this is your takeaway? Democrats have relentlessly demonized these Patriots, calling them “illegal” and even suggesting THEY might start shooting Americans. Get help. You are beyond sick.”

Dilanian doubled down on what the guardsmen were wearing, appearing to imply that their uniforms incited the shooting. In a post on X, he wrote, “From @MarcSantia4NY: Three law enforcement sources believe this may have been a targeted attack. The victims were national guardsmen wearing fatigues. One was shot in the head. This will be a FBI case because it involves federal officers.”

Social media is exploding with outrage over Dilanian’s commentary in the live broadcast.
“So it’s okay to go around shooting people just because you don’t like what they are wearing?” X user Donna demanded.
“Wait, the media is telling us that wearing masks is *bad* now?” another person asked.
“What are you saying? Federal agents and soldiers should expect to get shot for wearing their uniforms?” another asked.
The New York Young Republic Club wrote, “An MS NOW (the propaganda outlet formerly known as MSNBC) analyst says that “some Americans might object” to service members wearing their uniforms in public. You don’t hate the media enough.”
Anthony Wiley wrote, “When will people realize these people are straight up evil. Instead of criticizing the heinous person who committed this horrible act they say oh well these people are controversial justifying what happened by taking the blame away from the shooter. Making it that much easier for the next person to think it’s okay to do the same thing.”
