NEWS ALERT: Suspected foreign crime ring strikes mansions in wooded US suburbs

From Fox News: A wave of high-end residential burglaries across southeastern Wisconsin has prompted a coordinated law enforcement response and drawn political attention at both the local and national levels.

The Mequon Police Department (MPD) says the burglaries share striking similarities, suggesting a professional operation.

The suspects, dressed head to toe in black, with faces covered and gloves on, have entered homes through wooded backyards, often targeting cul-de-sacs or properties near golf courses.

Stolen items include jewelry, designer handbags, watches and cash, all consistent with organized theft groups that target affluent neighborhoods nationwide.

The report explains that investigators and police across Wisconsin are sharing data and identifying trends in the burglaries, and believe it is related to the South American theft groups (SATGs) known to be operating across the U.S.

According to Mequon Police Operations Commander John Hoell, they are seeing a pattern unlike typical local burglaries, reinforcing their belief that the crimes may involve a well-coordinated group operating regionally or nationally.

Authorities believe the thieves are using trail cameras to learn when the victims are gone from home, then they strike, typically during evening hours Thursday through Sunday, focusing on homes that are unoccupied.

Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.), who is running for governor of the state, commented on the situation, writing, “An illegal alien crime ring is operating in Mequon, WI. Do you think any Democrat running for governor will say a word about it? I will ban sanctuary jurisdictions and give law enforcement the tools to get these criminals off our streets.”

A similar situation has been playing out in the Los Angeles area:

Another recent robbery occurred in Texas, but in this case, the terrified homeowner was home, and screaming for his life.
