FROM DAILY MAIL: Anti-ICE demonstrators gathered at Home Depot to stage a bizarre protest which involved buying 17 cent ice scrapers then promptly returning the item to clog up the store with nuisance orders.
Almost 100 people gathered at the store in Monrovia, Los Angeles, on Saturday to participate in the protest, known as a ‘buy-in.’ Other protests simultaneously took place at Home Depot stores in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Burbank in California.
The protest involved queueing in long lines to purchase the cheap product, only to return to the queue minutes after the sale.
Erika Andiola, the political director for the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, said they were sending a message to Home Depot to “scrape ICE out of their stores.”
Multiple Immigrations and Customs Enforcement operations have taken place at Home Depots across the nation.
At least a dozen Home Depot stores have been targeted, by demonstrators.
