Former MAGA firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has not only turned against President Donald Trump. She will now be leaving House Republicans with an even slimmer majority, by announcing her intent to resign from office.

In a stunning video message posted on social media Friday night, Greene announced she is bailing out, saying she has always been despised in Washington, D.C., and doesn’t fit in.

Greene, 51, first won her seat to U.S. Congress in the 2020 elections.

“I will be resigning from office with my last day being January 5, 2026,” Greene announced.

In her video message, she said that no matter who is in power in Congress, nothing ever gets done, and the Speaker never brings most bills to the floor for a vote.

“I have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms,” Greene said.

Greene also released a copy of her full statement:

Greene’s announcement comes exactly one week after President Donald Trump announced he was withdrawing his endorsement for her, and encouraged other conservatives to run against her in the Republican primary.
