New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani requested a meeting with President Donald Trump, and the request has been granted.
The meeting is taking place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
Mamdani has repeatedly raged against President Trump, who has called him out as a communist.
Speaking with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade Friday morning, Trump downplayed the animosity between himself and Mamdani, and said, “I was hitting him a little hard.”
“We meet at 3:00 today, and I think it’s going to be quite civil. We’ll find out,” Trump said.
“He’s a little bit different… I think we’ll get along fine,” says @POTUS ahead of today’s meeting with NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said at the press briefing on Thursday, “It speaks volumes that tomorrow we have a communist coming to the White House because that’s who the Democrat Party elected as the mayor of the largest city in the country.”
