MELTDOWNS: Dems react after Trump calls senators’ video ‘seditious,’ ‘punishable by death’

Democrats have erupted in fury and dissolved into fits after President Donald Trump reacted to a video six Democrats released calling for U.S. military members and intelligence officials to disobey and defy the president’s “illegal orders.”

The Democrats participating in the stunt are Sen. Elissa Slotkin (Mich.), Sen. Mark Kelly (AZ), Rep. Chris DeLuzio (Pa.), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (Pa.), Rep. Maggie Goodlander (NH), and Rep. Jason Crow (Col.).

President Trump reacted by suggesting the Democrat traitors should be arrested and put on trial. He then added that they should be locked up. Finally, he noted that the law actually allows for the death penalty for anyone who commits treason.

Trump first wrote on Truth Social, ““It’s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand – We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET.”

“This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand. SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP???” he added.

The last one was what really sent the Democrats into orbit, as Trump wrote, “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”

The six Democrats who created the scandalous video have now released a joint statement defending themselves and slamming Trump’s reaction:

“We are veterans and national security professionals who love this country and swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. That oath lasts a lifetime, and we intend to keep it. No threat, intimidation, or call for violence will deter us from that sacred obligation.

“What’s most telling is that the President considers it punishable by death for us to restate the law. Our servicemembers should know that we have their backs as they fulfill their oath to the Constitution and obligation to follow only lawful orders. It is not only the right thing to do, but also our duty.

“But this isn’t about any one of us. This isn’t about politics. This is about who we are as Americans. Every American must unite and condemn the President’s calls for our murder and political violence. This is a time for moral clarity.

“In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage. We will continue to lead and will not be intimidated.

“Don’t Give Up the Ship!”

Democrats are voicing no shame whatsoever over their six colleagues encouraging military personnel to disobey their Commander in Chief – instead, they’re erupting because President Trump responded to their antics.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) posted a video, raging against Trump and falsely claimed that Trump wrote, “HANG THEM.”  Those words were NOT included in either of Trump’s three Truth Social posts. However, Trump DID re-post a comment from another Truth Social user who wrote those words.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) shared a screenshot of Trump’s re-post and wrote, “Let’s be crystal clear: the President of the United States is calling for the execution of elected officials. This is an outright THREAT. Every Senator, every Representative, every American—regardless of party—should condemn this immediately and without qualification.”

Schumer also posted a video rant and declared, “Donald Trump has made political violence a feature of his politics. Today he crossed yet another line that NO democracy can afford to tolerate. He must be condemned—forcefully, loudly, and without excuses.”

REMIND: Schumer is the very one who publicly called for violence against Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorshuch.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries also released a scathing statement against President Trump and fumed, “Donald Trump should keep his reckless mouth shut.”

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) defended the six Democrats encouraging military members to defy orders, and wrote, “This is the video that enraged Trump so much that he called for these Democratic lawmakers to be hanged. They served our country & now the President wants them dead because they said something he didn’t like. We can’t become numb to these disgusting calls for political violence.”
