In a bold move Tuesday morning, Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed a proclamation that designates the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations.
“Today, I designated the Muslim Brotherhood and Council on American-Islamic Relations as foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organizations,” Abbott announced. “This bans them from buying or acquiring land in Texas and authorizes the Attorney General to sue to shut them down.”
A press release further explains:
Governor Greg Abbott today designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations. This designation authorizes heightened enforcement against both organizations and their affiliates and prohibits them from purchasing or acquiring land in Texas.
“The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world,’” said Governor Abbott. “The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support terrorism across the globe and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation, and harassment are unacceptable. Today, I designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations. These radical extremists are not welcome in our state and are now prohibited from acquiring any real property interest in Texas.”
This comes amid an ongoing battle in the Dallas area, where the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) had announced they were building an entire “muslim city” on 402 acres of land, which would have have 1,000 homes, an Islamic school, a large mosque, a college and muslim retail stores. The group had been promoting the project and encouraging other muslims to buy plots for their new homes.
In April, Gov. Abbott announced that the deal could not go forward, and reminded that he had already signed a law in 2017 outlawing sharia law in Texas.
Abbott’s proclamation highlights multiple disturbing facts that have prompted his decision to list the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations, including the following:
– Hassan al-Banna, who founded the Muslim Brotherhood almost 100 years ago, professed that ‘Jihad is an obligation from Allah on every Muslim and cannot be ignored nor evaded” and that Jihad means “the fighting of the unbelievers, and involves all possible efforts that are necessary to dismantle the power of the enemies of Islam including beating them, plundering their wealth, destroying their places of worship and smashing their idols.”
– Mohammed Badie, the Eighth Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood who is currently serving a life sentence for plotting an armed insurrection in Egypt, has stated that the organization’s primary goal is to establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world’ and a total reform of all domains of life by resurrecting an Islamic state – of a Caliphate – empowered to forcibly impose Sharia law worldwide.
– Hamas, which was formed in 1987 as the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood and is designated by the United States government as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, kidnapped and murdered American citizens in its surprise assault against Israel on October 7, 2023.
– The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is an Islamist organization that, according to the FBI, was founded as a “front group” for Hamas and its support network in the United States.
– Nihad Awad, the Executive Director of CAIR, has boasted that American Muslims are “ready to move to the next phase,” and that within the next 15 years, the Muslim community “will have 50,000 – an army – of these people” who “will design Islam’s image, protect the truth and the news… many of these people will run for public office, and they will become lawmakers” to advance Sharia law in America.
