Mora Erisman Gerety, of Boise, Idaho, was only 8 years old, with her entire life ahead of her. But on Tuesday, November 11, at 4:42 pm, Mora was struck and killed by an illegal alien driving a pickup truck, as she was walking across an intersection and the pickup turned right, hitting her.

The national media has not picked up on the story, and even local media appears to be downplaying the fact that she was killed by an illegal alien.

CBS2 Idaho News reportedThe Coroner identified the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death as an accident.

Paramedics rushed her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room. According to police, the driver, later identified as Elvin Ramos-Caballero, has been taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement for an outstanding federal warrant.

A memorial at the intersection of W. Ada St. and Harrison Blvd has sprung up, and continues to grow, as the community mourns her loss.

The Idaho Press explained that Mora attended Washington Elementary School, approximately five blocks north of where the accident took place, which indicates that she may have been walking home from school at the time.

More from the Idaho Press: According to a BPD news release, the driver, Elvin Ramos-Caballero, remained on scene and was cooperative. Ramos-Caballero reportedly had an outstanding federal warrant and was taken into custody by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

According to KTVB, a Boise Police Department spokesperson told the television station that Ramos-Caballero’s warrant was for failure to appear for a hearing. Police say the investigation remains ongoing and no additional charges had been announced as of Thursday.

Mora’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22. The family has set up a tribute website filled with photos and memories of her.
