BREAKING: Media leaders resign amid scandal over misleading edit of Trump’s Jan 6 speech

Even CNN is admitting that the media has posted fake news about President Donald Trump to push a false narrative that he encouraged violence.

From CNN: Two top leaders at the BBC resigned on Sunday amid an escalating scandal over impartiality and bias that plunged Britain’s public broadcaster into one of its biggest crises in recent years.

The BBC’s most senior executive, director general Tim Davie, and the chief executive of the news division, Deborah Turness, both quit after the leak of a deeply critical memo that, among other things, revealed that the BBC had misleadingly edited a speech by US President Donald Trump to make it appear that he had directly called for violence on January 6.

In a note to staff on Sunday afternoon, Davie said his resignation was “entirely my decision.” He added that as director general, he took “ultimate responsibility” for mistakes made by the BBC.

The resignations come after the Telegraph newspaper published details of a leaked internal BBC dossier compiled by Michael Prescott, who had been hired to advise the BBC on editorial standards and guidelines.

The report explains that last year, Prescott revealed in an internal memo that the BBC had broadcast a “doctored” version of President Trump’s speech on January 6, 2021, which made it appear told the audience he would walk with them to the Capitol and “fight like hell.”

However, what Trump REALLY said was, “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol, and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women.”

In a statement published by the BBC, Davie said announced his resignation without specifically mentioning Trump by name or officially apologizing.

“Like all public organisations, the BBC is not perfect, and we must always be open, transparent and accountable. While not being the only reason, the current debate around BBC News has understandably contributed to my decision,” Davie said, adding, “Overall the BBC is delivering well, but there have been some mistakes made and as Director-General I have to take ultimate responsibility.”

President Donald Trump responded to news of the resignations in a Truth Social post Sunday afternoon. He wrote:

The TOP people in the BBC, including TIM DAVIE, the BOSS, are all quitting/FIRED, because they were caught “doctoring” my very good (PERFECT!) speech of January 6th. Thank you to The Telegraph for exposing these Corrupt “Journalists.” These are very dishonest people who tried to step on the scales of a Presidential Election. On top of everything else, they are from a Foreign Country, one that many consider our Number One Ally. What a terrible thing for Democracy!
