NEWS ALERT: Mayor-elect Mamdani makes stunning admission about his budget-busting socialist agenda

From the New York Post: Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani has admitted he plans to take aggressive action on his budget-busting socialist agenda, defiantly declaring: “It is a mandate.”

Fresh off the back of his election victory, the Democratic socialist wasted no time in vowing to follow through on his bold and unabashedly progressive plans — including taxing the rich.

“I’m also looking to be clear about the mandate that we won over the course of this election, and it is a mandate to deliver on the agenda that we ran on,” the 34-year-old told the New York Times on Wednesday.

Mamdani’s audacious admission came after the Democratic Socialists of America “army” quickly took credit for his win over former Gov. Andrew Cuomo — crowing, too, that it was a “clear mandate” for its radical, far-left agenda.

The report quotes Gustavo Gordillo, co-chair of DSA’s New York City chapter, as declaring, “This overwhelming victory is a clear mandate for a Democratic socialist agenda to make New York City one that people can afford. MAGA billionaires spent millions to prop up Andrew Cuomo and try to stop this movement, but we’ve proved once again: They have money, but we have power.”

The New York Times titled their report, “An Emboldened Mamdani Sheds Conciliatory Tone.”

The shift in tone was most striking when it came to his plan to raise taxes on the wealthy. In recent weeks, Mr. Mamdani had conveyed an openness to finding creative ways to pay for his signature policy initiative, universal child care, indicating that he was not necessarily set on raising taxes. There was plenty of revenue in the existing budget, he suggested.

On Wednesday, Mr. Mamdani said his call to tax the wealthy was also about fairness. He said that New Yorkers who had voted for him were eager for billionaires to pay more taxes. On Monday, the day before the election, droves of Mr. Mamdani’s supporters marched with him over the Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise, chanting, “Tax the rich!”

The smiling mask first came off during Mamdani’s victory speech Tuesday night, as he took on an angry, fighting tone and spewed his hatred against his conservative critics and President Donald Trump.

“My friends, we have toppled a political dynasty,” he boasted.

“I am young despite my best efforts to grow older. I am Muslim. I am a Democratic socialist. And most damning of all, I refuse to apologize for any of this,” he brazenly declared.

“New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants. And as of tonight, led by an immigrant,” he gloated, adding, “So hear me, President Trump, when I say this: To get any of us, you will have to get through all of us.”

The NYC-DSA celebrated their victory in getting Mamdani elected, writing, ““Years from now let our only regret be that this day took so long to come.“ We look to the future with a young, Muslim, Democratic socialist mayor who proudly identifies as such.”

“OUR TIME IS HERE! We just made history and we’re not slowing down 😤 The fight for an affordable New York has only just begun, and we can’t do it without you: our power is people power. See you TOMORROW 🔥 —>” the DSA announced in another post.

Wednesday morning, Mamdani held a press briefing and announced his transition team – a group of all women.
