Alexander Soros, a far-left Jewish billionaire and the son of Open Society Foundations founder Geroge Soros, has congratulated the radical Democrat Socialist winner of the New York City mayor race, Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani, 34, who was born in Uganda, will now become the first Muslim and the first Socialist to be mayor of the largest city in America.
Alex Soros, 40, who succeeded his father as chair of the board of directors of the massive $25 billion Open Society Foundations nonprofit in 2022, admitted Tuesday in an email to the New York Times that he had voted for Mamdani.
“I was proud to support and vote for the Democratic candidate for mayor,” Soros declared.
Fox News explained that the Open Society Foundations reportedly donated $37 million across the last decade to left-wing groups that ultimately promoted Mamdani’s nomination this year, such as the Working Families Party.
Mamdani was also heavily supported by the Democratic Socialists of America organization.
Tuesday night, Alex Soros posted a photo of himself and Mamdani with their arms around each other and wrote, “So proud to be a New Yorker! The American dream continues! Congrats, Mayor @ZohranKMamdani 🇺🇸🗽🌊.”

Human Events host Jack Posobiec pointed out, “Pro-Mandani groups took $40 Million from Soros. He isn’t anti-billionaire at all, as long as they’re filling his pockets. Just like every Marxist leader before him.”
