From Just The News: James Comey played the victim card in fighting his indictment on charges of misleading Congress, but that strategy boomeranged when prosecutors and his old agency released an avalanche of new evidence showing the ex-FBI director hoped to please Hillary Clinton, cheered on media leaks he claimed he did not sanction, and wrote emails and notes that directly conflict with his past congressional testimony.
Part of that unflattering portrait of Comey, prosecutors revealed Monday, came from long-hidden files that the new FBI Director Kash Patel found in burn bags and secret storage rooms at the bureau’s headquarters.
The evidence included proof that Comey used a private email account to conduct FBI matters — including media strategy with a top lieutenant — at the same time his agency probed Clinton for improperly using her own private email for government business.
“Perhaps you can make him smarter,” Comey wrote in one such email to FBI special government employee Daniel Richman in which the two discussed trying to influence a New York Times reporter about his coverage of the Clinton email scandal.
The report notes that Comey had told senators he didn’t know anything about Hillary Clinton’s plans to manufacture a Russia scandal against Trump, but the cache of documents includes handwritten nots from September 2016 which indicate he DID know, and had been briefed on the plot.

Federal prosecutors said in court filings that they have unearthed a trove of personal emails showing that Comey openly talked in the days before the 2016 election that he expected to be working soon for President-elect Hillary Clinton and that he was being kept apprised by his friend Richman on apparent efforts to anonymously provide information to the news media.
In another bombshell revelation, the report notes that all the time Comey was “overseeing” the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server to send classified information, he HIMSELF was using a personal and anonymous Gmail account to discuss FBI matters with Richman.

In May, Patel and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino announced they had discovered an entire stash of files in multiple “burn bags” in a secret room they believe were intended to be hidden from them.
Bongino said when he and Patel first came on board, there were a “lot of people who grabbed us by the arm and said ‘Thank you for being here. We need to talk.’”
“There was a room, and we found a lot of stuff, A hidden room. I wouldn’t call it hidden, but hidden from us, at least, and not mentioned to us. We found stuff in there, and a lot of it’s from the Comey era,” Bongino explained.
“We have found material… and I’m the Crossfire Hurricane guy… that I didn’t even know existed in FBI holdings,” Patel said, adding, “That’s been stashed away in locations that people thought we wouldn’t find it because we wouldn’t know to look for it there.”
