FOREIGN TAKEOVER: Democrat Socialist Muslim mayoral candidate in Minneapolis prompts outrage for waving foreign flag

While the media focus has mostly been on the New York City mayoral race, Zohran Mamdani is not the only Muslim Democrat socialist with African roots poised to take control of a major U.S. city.

In Minneapolis, Minnesota, Minnesota State Senator Omar Fateh, a Minnesota state senator, is one of the top Democrats seeking to unseat current Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey.

Fatah, 35, was born in Washington, D.C., and is the son of Somali immigrants. Like Mamdani, Fatah is a Democrat socialist, and a Muslim, with a strong alliance to a foreign nation instead of America.

The Guardian reported:

Fateh, like Mamdani, is running a campaign full of progressive promises, including raising the minimum wage to $20 an hour, a plan for rent stabilization, a public safety system that funds alternatives to police for calls like mental health crises and standing up to Trump. Six of the 13 council members have backed him, as have unions and state lawmakers.

Fateh, born in Washington DC, moved to Minneapolis about a decade ago. In 2020, the Democratic socialist launched a challenge to an incumbent Democrat for the state senate, earning the party’s endorsement and eventually becoming the first Somali American and first Muslim in the chamber. As a senator, he pushed through a bill creating labor standards for ride-share drivers and championed a tuition-free college plan.

His time in the legislature and reputation as a progressive fighter gave him a base of support in the mayoral contest, elevating him to top contender against Frey, Jacobs said.

A video of Fateh is going viral on social media this week and prompting massive outrage.  The video was taken from a rally on August 18, as Fateh is seen proudly waving a Somalian flag and speaking in Somali at the campaign event while Somali music plays in the background.

There is an American flag on a stand behind Fateh, but the focus is clearly on Somalia.

The video, posted by prominent X user “End Wokeness” Thursday morning, has already generated over 7.3 million views and 6,000 comments in its first 12 hours.

DMLNewsApp founder and podcast host Dennis Michael Lynch re-posted the shocking video and wrote: “Minnesota: candidate Omar Fateh waves his home country’s pitiful flag, speaks in Arabic babble, pledges his loyalty to Somalia, tells Somalians to elect him. How did this happen. End all immigration now.”

“This should disqualify him immediately!!!!” declared Xi Van Fleet, an immigrant from China who is a conservative.

The outrage is continuing to pour in.  Below are just some of the comments shared on social media Thursday:

Brandon Straka: “Obama did this.”

Mike Cernovich: “Catholic Charities did this.”

Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Tex.): “Infinity immigration is making America utterly unrecognizable.”

Steve Baker, a reporter for The Blaze: “There is such a thing as sedition against the Constitution. Both Islam and communism are prime examples. Both seek and plan to replace the Constitution. This needs to become front and center of the national conversation.”

Chad Prather: “Omar Fateh out here waving a foreign flag, speaking a language that sounds like my GPS having a meltdown, pledging loyalty to Somalia, and asking Somalians to elect him for mayor. At this point I’m just wondering if I missed the part where Minneapolis got a new zip code.”

David Giglio: “If Somalia is so great, then there’s no reason to approve all these asylum requests. Send them all back.”

Actor James Woods: “This cancer has metastasized already from Minneapolis to New York and beyond, and now it’s just a matter of time. Obama injected the tumor into America’s heartland, Biden paid for it with your tax dollars, and it’s now an unstoppable juggernaut.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.): “The radicals in today’s Democrat party hate America. And they don’t bother to hide it.”

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC): “Hey Omar – Your hate for America has no place here. If you can’t or don’t want to speak English here then go back to Somalia or whatever God-for-saken country you came from. You have no gratitude nor loyalty for the freedoms afforded here that we want to KEEP and that your sharia law will take away.”

Act for America founder Brigitte Gabriel furiously declared, “I REFUSE to normalize Zohran Mamdani and Omar Fateh becoming Mayors of two of the largest cities in the United States. This is an outrage and must be peacefully resisted at every possible turn. This can never become the standard, that’s when we have truly become conquered.”

Both Mayor Frey and Fateh are heavily targeting Somalian voters.

Fateh has been endorsed by Somalian refugee Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), the Democrat Socialists of America, and many other progressives.

Like Mamdani, Fateh has repeatedly voiced his disdain for “wealthy” people… and white people.

Fateh has previously claimed the real terrorists looked like his white Republican colleagues on the Minnesota Senate floor.

In an August interview, Fateh declared that if elected mayor of Minneapolis, his top priority would be protecting “our undocumented residents” from Trump’s “hostile federal government.”

During a recent debate, Fateh stood by his vow to arrest ICE agents in the city, for something so minor as just wearing a face mask.

Libs of TikTok warned in July: “Flashback to when Omar Fateh, Democrat mayoral candidate for Minneapolis, bragged about his involvement with the organization, Feeding Our Future, which was recently found guilty of a $250 MILLION pandemic fraud scheme.”

On Monday, Fox News highlighted the three Democrat socialists who are running for mayor in major U.S. cities: New York City, Minneapolis and Seattle.
