ELECTION ALERT: Ciattarelli wipes out Sherrill’s massive lead as NJ governor’s race flips on its head

From the New York Post: The New Jersey race for governor is a dead heat, with 49% of voters supporting Democrat Mikie Sherrill and 48% backing Republican Jack Ciattarelli, a bombshell new poll revealed Thursday.

When undecideds are pushed to say who they’re leaning toward, Sherrill’s lead increases by 1 point — 50% to 48%, the Emerson College/Pix 11/The Hill survey found.

The poll is a boost for Ciattarelli in the final days of the campaign — showing he has wiped out the 20-point lead that Sherrill boasted this summer.

The race is so close that turnout will likely decide the outcome.

The poll shows Sherrill leading among women by 18 percentage points, while Ciattarelli leads among men by 16 points.

Multiple Democrat mayors and leaders have crossed the aisle to endorse Ciattarelli.  On Wednesday, New Jersey Democratic Councilman Jeff Lewis of Branchville endorsed Ciattarelli, saying his party’s nominee is “not cut out for the job.”

On Wednesday, Ciattarelli commented on a report by the New York Post, titled, “Powerful NJ teacher’s union that’s backing Rep. Mikie Sherrill will host drag queen event days after election.”

“I’m all about live and let live, but why are drag queens a featured event at a public school teacher’s conference and what does it have to do with educating our children?! This is Mikie Sherrill’s NJ, not mine. When I’m Governor, we’re getting back to the basics in our public school curriculum, leaving all this other subject matter to the kitchen table where it belongs – where parents can decide if and when to discuss with their children. It’s time!” Ciattarelli declared.
