EGG ON HIS FACE: Stephen King’s vicious attack on Trump backfires spectacularly after fans spot author’s glaring error

From the Daily Mail: Stephen King’s latest critique of Donald Trump has spectacularly backfired after eagle-eyed fans noted he had fallen for a fake post.

The acclaimed author vented his frustrations on X on Sunday night after he heard that Trump had opted not to invite the winning team from the World Series to the White House.

‘Trump says he won’t invite either team playing in the World Series to the White House,’ he wrote.

‘He can’t rise above his petty political concerns even for the great American game. If anything shows what a louse he is, that’s it.’

Within minutes, King’s post was inundated with comments pointing out that the comments he read weren’t made on Trump’s legitimate social media accounts.

King was reacting to a screenshot of a satire post which falsely implied that Trump had written the following statement on Truth Social. The fake post read:

“WE WILL BE INVESTIGATING THE UN AMERICAN BLUE JAYS WHO ARE ATTEMPTING TO STEAL OUR BELOVED WORLD SERIES. THEY WILL DEFINITELY NOT BE INVITED TO THE WHITE HOUSE.”

In response to King’s slam against President Trump, the Community Notes group on X reminded King that he had fallen for a scam.

“The claim stems from a fabricated screenshot. Fact-checks and the White House confirm no such Trump post exists; the image came from a satire account and never appeared on his platforms,” Community notes scolded.

King still has not taken the post down.

This comes after King pushed out a fake claim about the late Charlie Kirk last month, and had to apologize for it.

King is being widely mocked for pushing the satire claim, and many X users pointed out that King’s entire career has been about spreading fiction anyway.
