OBAMA TO THE ‘RESCUE’: Democrats ‘in full-blown panic’ as Trump allies rally behind surging Ciattarelli

From Fox News: With Election Day in New Jersey and Virginia’s very competitive and combustible races for governor just two weeks away, Democrats are bringing in one of their party’s best campaign trail closers.

Former President Barack Obama will headline rallies in New Jersey and Virginia — the only two states in the nation to hold gubernatorial contests the year after a presidential election — on Nov. 1, the Saturday before Election Day.

For Democrats, who are aiming to escape the political wilderness after last year’s stunning election setbacks when they lost the White House and Senate majority and fell short in winning back the House, the 2025 ballot box showdowns are their first major shot at redemption, and they hope that Obama’s two-state swing will energize their base voters.

But for the former president, whose crowning domestic achievement — the Affordable Care Act, which is better known as Obamacare — is front-and-center in the current federal government shutdown and a top issue on the 2025 campaign trail, his return to the campaign trail is also about protecting his legacy.

Last week, Obama released a statement endorsing Sherrill in her race for the New Jersey governor’s seat.

Republican activist Scott Pressler mocked, “Democrats are PETRIFIED that they’re going to lose New Jersey. They’re so scared that they made Obama endorse Mikie “Cheating Scandal” Sherrill. New Jersey, you CAN win & elect Jack Ciattarelli as governor. I strongly encourage you to vote early in-person on October 25th.”

Ciattarelli says he’s not worried that Obama will be campaigning for his opponent, and voiced confidence that he will be able to flip New Jersey red.

Ciattarelli had a huge turnout at a recent campaign rally.

Obama is also coming to the rescue of Democrat Abigail Spanberger in her race for the Virginia governor’s seat against Lt. Gov. Winsom Earle-Sears. Eric Daugherty of Florida Voice News wrote:

Speculation is swirling that Virginia Governor candidate Abigail Spanberger (D) is PANICKING and that her internal polling shows the race with Winsome Sears (R) MUCH closer than expected after she announced an 11-day barnstorm across the state. OBAMA has also been dragged out last-minute.

Uphill battle for Sears — but I think Democrats are concerned political violence AG candidate JAY JONES (D) is causing issues…go vote!

One X user pointed out, “So suddenly Obama doesn’t want a black woman to win a Governorship. He’s choosing a white woman who refuses to answer questions from the American people. How odd. 🤔.”

Conservative podcaster Clay Travis speculated, “This makes me think the race is closer than the polling suggests.”
