MAJOR DEVELOPMENT: Putin speaking with Trump amid threat of US providing critical weapon to Ukraine

Now that President Donald Trump has gotten the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas signed and the deal underway, he has moved on to the next one: Russia and Ukraine.

Getting the Russia-Ukraine war ended was one of Trump’s campaign promises, and he has been working hard to get it done, holding multiple meetings with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and even traveling to Alaska to meet with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

However, Trump has acknowledged that this war seems to be the most difficult to stop.

Thursday morning, Trump announced in a Truth Social post that he is currently on the phone speaking with Putin.

This comes just one day before Zelenskyy is scheduled to visit Trump at the White House, as the U.S. is considering providing Tomahawk long-range missiles to Ukraine.

Axios noted that last week, Trump said he told Zelensky he might give Putin a new ultimatum: either Russia holds serious peace talks or Ukraine gets Tomahawks.

“I am speaking to President Putin now. The conversation is ongoing, a lengthy one, and I will report the contents, as will President Putin, at its conclusion. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump announced at 11:21 a.m. ET.

Interestingly, Putin appeared to slam the Nobel Prize Committee for failing to give their Peace Prize to Trump.

“This award lost credibility. The committee discussed the prize for people who have done nothing for the world,” Putin said.

“He solves complex problems, crises that last for decades. He sincerely aspires for this crisis in Ukraine to be resolved,” he added, speaking of Trump.
