MELTDOWN: Loomer fed up with GOP after Qatari defense agreement

FROM WASHINTGTON EXAMINER: Right-wing activist Laura Loomer blasted the federal government for agreeing to host Qatari fighter jets and pilots at an Air Force base in Idaho, pledging not to vote in 2026 and renouncing her GOP affiliation.

She later said her loyalty lies with President Donald Trump, not any political party, which she called “useless.”

Loomer’s comments mark a split in MAGA over the new Qatari agreement, which War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced on Friday alongside Qatari Defense Minister Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al Thani.

“Never thought I’d see Republicans give terror financing Muslims from Qatar a MILITARY BASE on US soil so they can murder Americans,” she said in an X post on Friday. “I don’t think I’ll be voting in 2026. I cannot in good conscience make any excuses for the harboring of jihadis. This is where I draw the line.”

Her comments came after Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced at a press conference Friday, “Today […] we’re signing a letter of acceptance to build a Qatari Emiri air force facility at the Mountain Home Airbase in Idaho.”

Hegseth said the U.S. would “host a contingent of Qatari F-15s and pilots to enhance our combined training, increased lethality, interoperability.”

”It’s just another example of our partnership,” he said.

Hegseth later clarified there would be no Qatari military base, “nor anything like a base,” on U.S. soil.

“We control the existing base,” he added, “like we do with all partners.”

The Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho currently hosts jets from Singapore, and Germany has a tactical training command at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, the Examiner noted.

In a post on Saturday, Loomer didn’t appear to soften on the issue, however.

“You really see who on the right has sold their soul when you see who is speaking out about Qatar’s financing of the Islamization of America and who isn’t,” she wrote. “They want you to think certain foreign countries having influence is better than others. If they had principles they would oppose all foreign influence.

It is unclear whether Loomer, who claims that Trump is “constantly” seeking her opinion, has discussed her stance on the agreement with the president.

Still, she has been adamant about her frustration with Republicans.

“Qatar has paid for a lot of peoples’ silence,” she wrote in an X post. “Imagine actually thinking it’s America First to flood Idaho with Qataris. A lot of people are clearly getting paid by Qatar to pretend like we don’t have a jihadist problem in our country.

“They don’t want any conservatives expressing support for the anti-sharia law bills. It’s glaring. These people who call themselves ‘influencers’ sold our country out for some Qatar cash.”

“It’s really hard being a part of a party that doesn’t want to see the truth,” she wrote in another X post.

“I go to sleep tonight knowing I will sleep without guilt while the entire GOP is too afraid to call out the Qatar insanity,” she wrote in another post.
