THE AUDACITY! Schumer blasted for gloating comment over government shutdown

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer continues to blame Republicans for the government shutdown, despite that he is insisting Democrats will not support the clean funding bill Republicans have put forth.

Schumer is now being blasted over a comment he made to Punchbowl News, as he bragged, “Every day gets better for us.”

“It’s because we’ve thought about this long in advance and we knew that health care would be the focal point on Sept. 30 and we prepared for it … Their whole theory was — threaten us, bamboozle us, and we would submit in a day or two,” he gloated.

Schumer doubled down in a twisted speech on the Senate floor, claiming, “Each day our case to fix healthcare and end the shutdown gets better and better, stronger and stronger.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed Schumer, writing on X, “While federal workers stress over missed paychecks, military families turn to food pantries, and airports around the country face delays — Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are bragging that “every day gets better” for them. What a disgusting and revealing statement. Democrats are gleeful about inflicting pain on the American people.”

President Trump also ripped into Schumer during a Cabinet Meeting Thursday morning.

“Chuck Schumer proclaimed this morning that ‘every day gets better’ for them.’ No, it’s actually getting worse for them,” Trump declared. “He’s the one that shut it down. This is a confession that he’s acting not to serve the people, but to serve the partisan interests of his party.”

Schumer is being ripped to shreds over his comment.

Trump advisor Steven Cheung wrote, “Chuck Schumer is admitting the Democrat Shutdown—where they are hurting everyday Americans— is a positive thing. Every Democrat should be asked if they agree with Schumer. Vile. Craven. Disgusting.”

Vice President JD Vance added, “Better for Schumer. Worse for Americans. What a vile sentiment from an alleged leader in our country.”

Indiana Gov. Mike Braun (R) furiously wrote, “While families worry about missed paychecks and food on the table, Democrats are bragging about how “every day gets better” for them. This says everything you need to know about their priorities. The Schumer shutdown is not a political win. It’s not a game. It’s people’s lives. Disgraceful.”

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves declared, “The Schumer Shutdown is Washington at its worst — he is determined to play politics instead of doing what’s right for America. Now Schumer is bragging that “every day gets better” for him while NOT caring that it is everyday Americans that he is hurting! He and Democrat Senators should do what they did 13 times under Biden — vote to pass a clean CR, stop the chaos, and get our government back open!”

South Dakota Gov. Larry Rhoden wrote, “I just met with our @SD_Guard soldiers deployed to DC — they aren’t even being paid right now. I assure you, every day isn’t “getting better” for the hard-working soldiers keeping Senator Schumer’s city safe.”

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) blasted Schumer: “When Chuck Schumer said “everyday gets better for us”, he certainly was not talking about Virginians, air traffic controllers, or our great military. Maybe it is for him, Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, but for everyone else the Schumer shutdown hurts. Stop gloating over the pain you are causing Americans, and start voting to open the government.”

Brian Glenn of Real America’s Voice wrote, “He clearly lives in a different world than REAL Americans. Life is BETTER under Republican policies and leadership. Hey Libs, open the damn government!”

Sen. Katie Britt wrote on X, “Democrats and Chuck Schumer are now openly celebrating their shutdown. Every flight delayed because of a shortage of air traffic controllers and every troop that misses a paycheck rests squarely on their shoulders.”

Sen. Ashley Moody (R-Fla.) wrote, “.@SenSchumer, did you really say every day the government is shut down gets better for you? Meanwhile, every day gets worse for the American people—and certainly worse for our federal employees and service members supporting families going without a paycheck. It’s time to put your insatiable need to appease radical groups aside and END the #SchumerShutdown.”

And the backlash continues….
