REPORT: Pro-Migration Groups Push Pope to Cheerlead for Mass Migration

From Breitbart: Pope Leo XIV is being lobbied by Catholic bishops and nuns to endorse more migration flows, regardless of the vast civic and economic damage inflicted on citizens, Western societies, and the migrants’ home countries.

So far, the Pope is responding with generalities without detailed policy implications or direct opposition to Trump’s popular deportation of illegal migrants.

“In the communities of ancient Christian tradition, such as those of the West, the presence of many brothers and sisters from the world’s South should be welcomed as an opportunity, through an exchange that renews the face of the Church,” the Pope declared on October 5.

“Often [migrants] maintain their strength while seeking a better future, in spite of the obstacles that they encounter,” Leo said Oct. 2 in a meeting with Catholic migration advocates.

Breitbart further reported:

Catholic Bishops are using stronger language and are staging a public demonstration to denounce Trump’s popular policies. In September, Cardinal Robert McElroy, archbishop of Washington, described Trump’s popular policies as an “assault [that] seeks to make life unbearable for undocumented immigrants.”

So far, these bishops and advocacy groups have failed to get the new Pope to directly denounce Trump’s policies.

A reporter recently asked the Pope about President Trump’s decision to send 400 National Guard troops to Chicago. He responded, “I prefer not to comment about political choices within the United States. Thank you very much.”

However, the liberal open-border advocates are pushing the pope to take their side.

Christopher Lamb, Vatican Correspondent for CNN, announced Wednesday, “Pope Leo today met Bishop Mark Seitz of El Paso, Texas, and was presented with letters & video from immigrants in the US. Leo said “the church cannot remain silent” in its response to President Trump’s immigration policies (photos: Hope Border Institute).”

NBC’s Mary Ann Ahern announced, “Three dozen Chicago labor leaders in Rome have private audience with Pope Leo. Immigration and worker rights – their focus. They’re also concerned about National Guard deployment back home.”

In June,  Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies, testified at a congressional hearing, and announced, “NGOs & UN Agencies were paid by US taxpayers to facilitate illegal movement of migrants from South and Central America and Mexico.”
