FROM DAILY MAIL: California Governor Gavin Newsom has slammed Donald Trump as travelers in Los Angeles brace for chaos and major delays to flights due to the government shutdown.
The Federal Aviation Authority on Monday warned air traffic control towers at Hollywood Burbank Airport would be unmanned until at least 10pm local time.
Without on-site air traffic controllers, the airport’s arrivals and departures will be managed by TRACON, a team working out of San Diego which already handles much of Burbank’s traffic.
Newsom attacked Trump, blaming him for the staffing issue amid the government shutdown.
“‘Thanks, @realDonaldTrump! Burbank Airport has ZERO air traffic controllers from 4:15pm to 10pm today because of YOUR government shutdown,” he wrote on X.
The White House responded, when asked, with an automatic reply.
‘Due to staff shortages resulting from the Democrat Shutdown, the typical 24/7 monitoring of this press inbox may experience delays,’ it read.
“As you await a response, please remember this could have been avoided if the Democrats voted for the clean Continuing Resolution to keep the government open.
Thanks, @realDonaldTrump!

Air traffic controllers, who are already working 6 days a week, are now telling me they may have to find a second job to pay their mortgage because of the shutdown.
All because @SenSchumer and @RepJeffries want to play politics. pic.twitter.com/YZ85p0od6q
