PEACE THROUGH CHRIST
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
John 14:27
God has promised us peace, but finding true peace, the kind He gives, is tough these days.
Sometimes, in our Christian lives, we go through tough times, like money problems, health issues, or physical pain. We often feel like we want peace, but can’t find it. Sometimes, it even feels like our Father has left us. We don’t know where He is or what He’s doing.
When Jesus said He was leaving, the disciples were worried, sad, and scared. But Jesus promised them the Holy Spirit would guide and comfort them. They were still afraid to face trouble and promised them His perfect peace.
When we are scared, sad, or lacking in courage, we should remember:
1. Jesus knows how we feel and understands our fears.
2. He assures us that He’s got our backs and that He’s overflowing with grace, giving us the peace we need.
From this place of real peace, we can move forward with confidence, not letting fear, worry, or lack of courage hold us back. As Paul says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom 8:31). Jesus warned us about troubles, but He said, “Don’t worry, I’ve conquered the world!” (John 16:33)
Our Lord is with us on this journey. He promises us His peace, no matter what challenges we face. Let’s turn away from doubt, worry, and lack of courage and find Him for all our needs.
Dear Jesus, Our Savior and Redeemer – thank You for this day. Help us to be brave and strong under the comfort of Your perfect peace. In Your precious name we pray, AMEN.
