Democrats continue pushing the narrative that the reason they won’t vote for the Republican-led government funding bill is because they’re fighting to protect healthcare for Americans.
“We’re going to keep fighting for the American people,” raged Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
However, Vice President JD Vance explained in an interview on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning that what Democrats are REALLY up to.
“The far-left faction of Senate Democrats shut down the government because we wouldn’t give the hundreds of billions of dollars for healthcare benefits for illegal aliens,” Vance declared.
Vance said Democrats claim they just want to be sure Americans have low cost healthcare.
He pointed out that Democrats are arguing for a “premium support program” under Obamacare that they want to keep going… but that particular program doesn’t even expire until later next year. Vance demanded to know why Democrats are forcing a shutdown in October over something that doesn’t even expire for several months away.
Democrats claim they’re not actually demanding healthcare for illegal aliens. But Vance pushed back, explaining why that’s not true.
He said there are two Biden-era programs that explicitly gave taxpayer money to illegal aliens that the Trump administration turned off in January. Democrats want to restore those programs.

Three Democrats are already siding with Republicans on the funding bill, and Vance said he believes more moderate Democrats will eventually cross the aisle to support it.
