Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the White House Monday morning for a meeting with President Donald Trump.

Trump and Netanyahu skipped the usual Oval Office meeting with reporters, and are holding a joint press conference at the White House at around 2:15 p.m.

White House assistant Margo Martin shared a video of Trump greeting Netanyahu when he arrived.

A reporter yelled out, asking if Trump was confident of a potential peace agreement to end the Hamas-Israel war.

“I am,” Trump curtly responded, before escorting the prime minister into the White House.

Hamas is reportedly still holding 48 hostages, with only 20 of those believed to still be alive.

Trump said in a Truth Social post on Friday, “I am pleased to report that we are having very inspired and productive discussions with the Middle Eastern Community concerning Gaza. Intense negotiations have been going on for four days, and will continue for as long as necessary in order to get a Successfully Completed Agreement.”

Just ahead of the press conference Monday afternoon, the White House released a readout of Trump and Netanyahu’s phone call today with Qatar Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

Netanyahu delivered a bold speech to the United Nations General Assembly Friday morning. As he took the podium, a large number of UN delegates, reportedly mostly from Muslim nations, all got up and walked out of the room in an act of hateful defiance.
