From Fox News: The U.S. Senate has passed a resolution declaring Oct. 14, 2025, the birthday of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, as the National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk.

The new resolution designates the day as an opportunity for “Americans to reflect on Kirk’s contributions to public debate and civic engagement.”

The resolution also recognizes Kirk for his contributions to civic education and public service and encourages educational institutions, civic organizations, and citizens across the United States to observe this day with appropriate programs, activities, prayers, and ceremonies that promote civic engagement and the principles of faith, liberty, and democracy that Charlie Kirk championed.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), who led the resolution to honor Kirk, announced earlier Thursday afternoon, “I’ll be on the Senate floor at 1:15 pm calling for unanimous consent of my resolution to make Charlie Kirk’s birthday, October 14th, a national day of remembrance for him. Charlie was an incredible friend, and I’m proud to honor his legacy.”

Then, sharing a video of his remarks on the Senate floor, Scott wrote, “Charlie Kirk was a patriot, an incredible husband, father, friend, and champion of his faith and an inspiration. I am proud to join together with my colleagues to honor his life and legacy with the unanimous passage of my resolution naming October 14, 2025, as a National Day of Remembrance for Charlie.”
